What can The Ink Mill do for my brand?

The Ink Mill is a platform designed for brands and individuals to connect on a more exclusive level. You will be able to access feedback from people around the world and you will be able to understand your audience in an entirely new way.

We can also include you and your brand in any social initiative we organise as well as our editorial, Our Ink. If you would like more information, please contact brands@theinkmill.com

How does The Ink Mill get details of my business?

The Ink Mill gathers information of your business through publicly available information such as your brand’s website, social media outlets and/or in-store through direct enquiry.

How do I help correct inaccurate information? How do I edit information on my brand profile?

If you would like to edit or correct any information on your brand page, please email us at brands@theinkmill.com and we will be happy to update this for you. Please allow 48 hours for the edits to take effect.

How do I get listed?/What are the requirements to be listed?

Any fashion brand can be listed and all you need to do is request your brand by clicking onto your username on the top right hand corner and select Request a Brand. Complete the required details and we will let you know once the brand has been published.

The only information we require is:

  • A brand name
  • A form of communication (website, social media, email, address)
  • Gender of the audience

Please allow up to 36 hours for the brand to be published.

How do I remove a brand from The Ink Mill?

The Ink Mill acts as a platform to share and express independent view points of the regarding brand and thus, we cannot remove a brand unless the brand is in violation of our Terms & Conditions or if the brand is no longer operating in business.

Who writes the reviews on The Ink Mill?

The reviews published on The Ink Mill are opinions expressed by the public and are not a representation of the views associated with The Ink Mill. We support honest and practical feedback and promote this standard throughout the website accordingly.

How do I get more reviews?

You can boost your reviews by asking the people you know, clients and customers to drop by and support your brand on The Ink Mill. Furthermore, you can also link or direct your supporters to The Ink Mill. It’s quick and the more reviews your brand receives; the more it will be featured on the website. It’s also a great way to gauge the response of the public to your brand.

Can I remove or edit a review on my brand profile?

To ensure that The Ink Mill remains true to its users, once a review is submitted, it cannot be edited or removed from the brand profile.

How do I report an inappropriate review?

We understand that not all reviews are fitting thus if you feel that the review is inappropriate, please forward us an email detailing any associated information to contact@theinkmill.com and we will investigate this accordingly. Please note we are unable to edit/delete reviews if they do not appear to be in violation of our Terms & Conditions.

Can I upload my own images, videos and/or lookbooks onto my profile?

We currently don’t have the functionality for brands to upload videos and entire lookbooks however we understand the importance of this service and are working on bringing this to you in the very near future.

As a brand, you are able to update and upload individual images onto your profile. To do this, please email brands@theinkmill.com with your brand details and images.

Can I upload promotional material onto my brand profile?

At The Ink Mill, we encourage you as a brand to be active and to engage with your audience however due to potential spam, we do not accept any promotional mediums to be uploaded onto the site at this stage. We suggest that materials of a promotional nature be updated in your social media outlets and to ensure your account details are always up to date on your brand profile so your reviewers can keep track of any initiatives that are happening.

Is there a size limit for the images I want to upload?

The maximum size limit for each image upload is 64mb for brands and for reviewers.

How do I take advantage of your search function on The Ink Mill?

The search function on The Ink Mill is to help people find you. We suggest always having your brand’s information complete and updated. Another tip is to also refresh your profile often with new visuals to encourage your supporters to keep coming back.

How can I promote my brand on The Ink Mill?

We’re major supporters of raw talent and are always exploring new and engaging ways to work with our brands and designers. Please email us at contact@theinkmill.com for further information.

How do I report a copyright violation?

If you have reason to believe that your content has been copied and/or is accessible on the service in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, or that the service contains links or other references to another site, application, destination or service that contains content or activity that infringes your copyright rights, or that any of the content in our web site which are submitted by the users is unlawful, defamatory, offensive, inaccurate, misleading or otherwise unsuitable, you may notify us by e-mail to contact@theinkmill.com or by filling out the Contact Us form. The Ink Mill will endeavour to review such complaints within a reasonable time and take remedial action if necessary. Complainants shall accept that any decisions made by The Ink Mill in respect of any complaints are final.

I have a technical problem, how do I get this resolved?

You can report your technical problem by contacting tech@theinkmil.com or by filling out the Contact Us form. We will come back to you as soon as possible to resolve your issue.

I want to collaborate with The Ink Mill, who should I contact?

If you are the owner of a brand or is authorised to act on behalf of the brand, and would like to collaborate with us, please reach out to us at brands@theinkmill.com or by filling out the Contact Us form for further information.

Does The Ink Mill own the photos that I upload onto the site?

As per our Terms & Conditions, we do not claim ownership of any content you submit. For more details, please read our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.

Which web browsers are compatible with the website?

To make sure you have the best experience possible, we recommend using the most up-to-date version of one of the following browsers: Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome or Internet Explorer.

Why isn’t it working properly on my phone?

We are still working on translating our website to a phone-friendly version. We will notify all our users when this is accessible and ready!

Do brands pay The Ink Mill for advertisement?

No, The Ink Mill is 100% independent and do not receive any payment from any brands on the website.

Who is The Ink Mill?

The Ink Mill is an online review platform created for users to share their views on fashion whilst building a community who are interested in unearthing different sources of inspiration.

Why should I sign up as a member?

Signing up as a member allows you to contribute to The Ink Mill community by having your opinions heard through the submission of new brands and reviews and contribute to the discovery of new sources of inspiration for the entire community. You will also be able to access feedback and views on the latest fashion news and trends.

Is The Ink Mill a free service?

Yes, The Ink Mill is a free service focused on fostering collaborations amongst all participants in The Ink Mill community.

How do I get started?

Getting started with The Ink Mill is easy. Simply create a new account by clicking on the Register button on the top right hand corner of the home page and completing the form. You can also use your Facebook or Google Plus account to assist in completing the form by clicking the relevant icon.

Do I need an account to write a review or to submit a new brand?

Yes, in order to write a review or submit a new brand you will need to create an account.

How do I write a review? What do I need to know?

Any member of The Ink Mill can write a review that expresses their own unique thoughts and views, simply by clicking on any of the Write a Review buttons and filling in the review form. Members are encouraged to express their opinions on:

  • The Brand: Share your unique thoughts and views on a brand, its style, the quality of its offerings or any other aspect that you have an opinion on
  • Their Products: Let others know your experience with any product you have purchased from the brand. Is it true to size? Is it functional? How is the material quality?
  • Their Collections: Express your view on a designer’s collection. What do you find inspirational? What works? What doesn’t?

All reviews will be reviewed by The Ink Mill’s editors and should express your own first hand views or experiences. Please ensure you review is complete and correctly reflects your first hand views or experiences.

How often can I write a review?

There are no limits on how often you choose to write. Members are encouraged to express their unique first hand views through their opinions as frequently as they wish.

How do I add images to my reviews?

To add an image to a review, simply select the ‘Browse’ button in the Write a Review form and locate the relevant image file on your computer. Please ensure you have the appropriate copyright approvals to use the image prior to uploading.

I have submitted a review but can’t see it anywhere – what happened?

Your reviews will be published after it has been reviewed and approved as appropriate by our editors at The Ink Mill. You can view the status of your recently submitted reviews on your profile page under Recent Reviews.

How do I search for a brand?

You can look up a brand by using the search bar located on the homepage or alternatively you can sort brands by category using the drop down menu, all located to the left of the search bar on the homepage.

I want to review a brand that’s not listed, what do I do?

Congratulations! You have identified a brand that has not been reviewed and are contributing to The Ink Mill by unearthing new inspiration for The Ink Mill community. Simply, complete a Brand Request form with as much information as you can provide on the brand. The Ink Mill team will create a new brand page and will let you know once it is available so you can add your review.

Can I comment on other members’ reviews?

At the moment, we are still in the process of building this function so brands and members can enhance their interaction on The Ink Mill. In the meantime as a member, you are able to ‘like’ reviews to show support for that user’s view.

How do I report an inappropriate review?

In the event that you find a review that violates the Terms & Conditions, please email us at contact@theinkmill.com and we will then investigate and take the appropriate action.

What do I do if I forget my password?

If you have forgotten your password and need to retrieve it, simply click on the Forgot Your Password? link in the login box at the top of the page. This will display a page with a box in which you need to enter the email address you registered your account with. Once this is done, click on Get New Password and an email containing a link to set a new password will be sent to you. When you receive this email, click on the link.

How do I change my username or other profile details?

Log in and click My Account from the dropdown menu in the top right corner. On your account page, click the Edit Profile button below your profile picture, next to your username.

What are the rules or restrictions that apply to new reviews?

At The Ink Mill, we promote truthful and valuable feedback to our brands without placing any restrictions on you, the reviewer however there are some guidelines we suggest for everyone to use so we can all continue enjoying The Ink Mill experience.

  • Details really help brands and others in The Ink Mill community understand your opinion
  • Having images uploaded to your review will allow readers to visualise your review
  • Use a catchy subject heading!
  • Profanity, spam and any type of inappropriate behaviour will not be accepted in reviews and will be deleted
  • Reviews are published subject to admin approval

Is my personal information safe?

While the safety of your personal information can never be 100% guaranteed, we take privacy extremely seriously and adopt many measures to minimise the risks, including privacy training to our staff to ensure that they understand their responsibilities when handling your personal information and the correct processes to follow. How do I delete my account?

If you don’t think you’ll be using your account again, you can request to have your account permanently deleted by contacting contact@theinkmill.com or by filling out the Contact Us form. Please keep in mind that you won’t be able to reactivate your account or retrieve anything you’ve added once your account has been disabled.
